The POURQUOIPAS philosophy is based on the idea that education and artistic experience is a school of life, and can be an important key of social development.

The POURQUOIPAS association was founded by the violinist Irene Abrigo in collaboration with Madeleine Murray-Robertson.
With a solid foundation of brilliant, internationally active concert performers, this Swiss-based organization holds concerts and provides musical entertainment for different types of events. It offers a variety of packages, from solo recitals to symphony orchestra performances, as well as trio, quartet, and quintet performances. Its repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary pieces, with a focus on promoting communication and discussions with audiences that sometimes have limited knowledge of live instrumental performances. The association is firmly convinced that art has a responsibility to society.
In October 2015 POURQUOIPAS Virtuosi, the association's chamber orchestra, played both solo concerts and concerts in collaboration with other artists (Angelique Kidjo, Barbara Hendrix, and the sand animation artist Cassimo) during the Nansen Refugee Award Ceremony in Geneva. This humanitarian award is presented every year by the UNHCR, the High Comittee of Refugee of United Nations.

Winner of the 2015 Respighi Prize 2015, Irene has made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2016 with the Chamber Orchestra of New York, performing the NY première of the violin concerto by Dirk Brossé "Black, White and in Between". In 2016 she also performs in Brazil the south America première of the Respighi's Violin Concerto n.1 and she had her debut with the West Czech Symphony Orchestra in Prague, with the Mozart Violin Concerto n.5.
Italian violinist, Irene Abrigo started playing the violin at the age of 4 at the Aosta Suzuki School.
She continued her education with Marie-Annick Nicolas, Pierre Amoyal and Corina Belcea.
She had Masterclasses with, among others, Thomas Furi, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Viktor Pikayzen, Samuel Ashkenazi, Vadim Gluzman, Ivry Gitlis and Zakhar Bron.
She's currently playing a Gaetano Antoniazzi, Cremona 1890.
